Mayor Brandon Johnson is nearing his first 100 days in office and making major moves — unceremoniously ousting Chicago Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady and tapping Larry Snelling to lead the Chicago Police Department as superintendent.

Another lawsuit filed against Northwestern University — this time by former NU baseball coaches who blew the whistle on the team’s head coach and lost their jobs.Northwestern’s other fired coach, Pat Fitzgerald, is volunteering his expertise for his son’s high school football team as former athletes condemn the hazing but stand behind the university’s sports programs and education.

The Cubs are in the playoff chase but lose pitching ace Marcus Stroman to injury for an indeterminate amount of time.Meanwhile, White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson starts his five-game suspension for brawling.And Blackhawks future Hall of Famer Jonathan Toews thanks Chicago again amid speculation of his possible return to playing after his yearlong break.
