Talent agency UTA has hired Eric Iverson as its chief technology officer.
Iverson joins UTA from Amazon MGM Studios, where he led the divisions product, user experience and AI strategy. At UTA, Iverson will head the agencys technology strategy, including how artificial intelligence can be used to benefit clients. He will be based at UTAs Beverly Hills headquarters.
I have long admired UTAs track record in being first to market in unlocking technology-driven opportunities across the cultural landscape, Iverson said. UTA was the first major agency to establish digital, podcasting and other future-facing practices, and they have consistently shown a commitment to lean into what innovation has to offer their clients and their business. Joining this team in these dawning days for artificial intelligence is the role of a lifetime. At Amazon, Iverson also helped oversee the creation of the companys Next Generation Studio, which used cloud-based technology and AI to power production. He previously worked as CTO and CIO of talent agency CAA and served as CTO of Sony Pictures Television.
