The late Treat Williams received a posthumous nomination for best supporting actor at the 2024 Emmys for his role in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.

Williams died after a motorcycle accident on June 12, 2023. He was 71 years old. His Emmy nomination for a limited or anthology series comes after the final curtain call for his role as CBS head Bill Paley in the second season of Feud.

At the time of this death, 20th Century TV and FX said in a statement: Treat Williams leaves behind a legacy of remarkable performances in film and television, and an indelible mark on the entire industry. All who were fortunate enough to work with Treat over his four-decade career would agree that his incredible talent was matched only by his utter kindness. He was a friend and inspiration to many, and he will be deeply missed by his colleagues. Our hearts go out to his family during this time. Williams had also been a series regular on the popular Netflix dramaChesapeake Shores. The posthumous recognition is a chance for the family of Williams to attend the Emmy ceremony in September.

The 2024 Emmys will be broadcast live Sunday, Sept. 15, from 8-11 p.m. ET/5-8 p.m. PT on ABC and stream the next day on Hulu. The ceremony will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
