The Week in Review: Quigley Won’t Run for Mayor, Bulls Dumped Out of Playoffs by Dominant Bucks-December 2024
Dec 26, 2024 6:37 PM

U.S. Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Chicago) announced Thursday he won’t run for mayor, meanwhile Mayor Lori Lightfoot continues to tease an announcement, although the Chicago Sun-Times says she is running.

The city council passed Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s gas card giveaway, but not without some serious pushback from aldermen who say the money could be better spent.

Ald. Jim Gardiner’s 45th Ward superintendent was arrested for allegedly trying to sell an antique machine gun – on city time.

And in sports, the Chicago Bulls are dumped out of the playoffs in the first round by a dominant Milwaukee Bucks team. And Zach Lavine enters free agency and hints he may be ready to leave. While the White Sox break an eight-game losing streak against the Kansas City Royals.
