NBCUniversal Media Group executive David Pietrycha has been promoted to the role of chief business officer.
Pietrycha, who was previously executive vice president of strategy and business development, will report to group chairman Mark Lazaraus. The new job entails working with division leaders on resource allocation and investment choices, which include content rights, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions as well as helping facilitate new business development.
His position oversees NBCUs broadcast and entertainment cable networks, the companys direct-to-consumer businesses, including Peacock and NBC Sports properties, international networks, affiliate relations, content distribution and advertising sales. Dave has been an invaluable partner to me over the past few years as we have quickly grown and evolved our television and streaming business model, Lazarus said. In his new post, Daves insight, relationships and creative thinking will be instrumental as we continue to play a leading role in shaping the future of our industry.
As EVP, Strategy Business Development, Pietrycha ran the strategy for major sports rights negotiations, including NFL, NASCAR and WWE and helped cultivate new business opportunities, including on NBC affiliate renewals.
He was previously the chief financial officer for NBC Sports Group and held financial leadership roles in the NBC News Group and the NBC Owned Television stations division.
