Las Vegas Sphere Names Ned McNeilage Chief Creative Officer-November 2024
Nov 21, 2024 6:28 AM

Sphere Entertainment, which runs the giant spherical venue in Las Vegas that opened last year, has hired Ned McNeilage as its chief creative officer.

McNeilage will help shape the creative and brand strategy for Sphere, a venue with the worlds largest interior and exterior wraparound LED displays. Before joining Sphere, McNeilage served as chief creative officer at VML, working on creative campaigns for Microsoft, IBM, and Google, and before that he had the same title at BBH LA, where his brand credits included Samsung, American Express and Activision. Sphere has expanded the possibilities for artists and brands to express themselves through an entirely new medium, and I am eager to work with our partners and across the entire Sphere team to continue exploring the power of Sphere to connect with audiences in innovative ways, he said in a statement on Thursday.

In his new role, McNeilage will oversee Spheres in-house creative design studio and brand teams, and be responsible for content running on the Exosphere, the giant LED exterior, as part of the Sphere venue that opened in Sept. 2023.

The Las Vegas Sphere mixes live concerts like an inaugural U2 residency with programming like Darren Aronofskys film Postcard From Earth.

Ned has worked with premier brands to spearhead memorable campaigns, and he will bring that expertise to not only support our partners in creating impactful brand moments at Sphere, but also continue to build the Sphere brand, Jennifer Koester, president, Sphere business operations, added in her own statement.
