Electoral College Lawsuit: Complaint Accuses Fake Electors of Filing Bogus Paperwork
Electoral College Lawsuit: Complaint Accuses Fake Electors of Filing Bogus Paperwork-January 2024
Jan 5, 2025 5:06 AM

Monday’s Jan. 6 hearings focused on Donald Trump’s false claims of a stolen election, after several advisors, including the former attorney general, told him those claims had no merit and he had lost.

Part of the alleged overall scheme to overturn the election involved hopes that then-Vice President Mike Pence would reject electors and have states appoint different slates.

In Wisconsin, a group of Republicans played along, signing fraudulent documents falsely declaring themselves as Trump electors.

Now, a nonprofit law firm there is suing to bring criminal charges.

Jeff Mandell, lead council and president of Law Forward, a bipartisan nonprofit organization working toward preserving democratic principles in Wisconsin, discusses the hearings and lawsuit.
