Audacy Reorganizes Podcast Division, Sunsets Cadence13 Brand
Audacy Reorganizes Podcast Division, Sunsets Cadence13 Brand-November 2024
Nov 7, 2024 1:35 AM

Radio broadcast company Audacy is reorganizing its podcast division under the new branding of Audacy Podcasts.

As part of the move, the company will be sunsetting the brand names of Cadence13, the podcast studio home to We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle and Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade, and 2400Sports and moving the staff and content under the Audacy Podcasts umbrella. There are no layoffs as part of the move, nor any changes to the content slates, or operational or reporting changes.

Pineapple Street Studios, which primarily works with third-party partners such as HBO, Netflix and Spotify, will retain its branding as it moves under the Audacy Podcasts umbrella.

The goal of the reorganization is to streamline the brands for advertisers and to put a further emphasis on the Audacy brand.

The reorganization comes as part of Audacys plan to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As part of the bankruptcy, which Audacy declared in January, the broadcast company has also conducted a series of cost-cutting measures, including laying off 25 percent of its staff at Pineapple Street at the end of January.

Under Audacys approved bankruptcy plan, the company will be able to retain ownership in exchange for cutting about $1.6 billion of funded debt.
