Apr 26, 2025 10:13 AM

Chicago is plowing through severe weather with all-hands-on-deck. Hundreds of flights were canceled as the storm’s timing makes holiday travel a nightmare.

State lawmakers hold another hearing on banning assault weapons. And, a judge will rule on the SAFE-T Act on Dec. 28 after prosecutors asked to stop the law that eliminates cash bail on Jan. 1.

U.S. Reps. Adam Kinzinger and Rodney Davis wrap up their congressional careers with vastly different reports on Donald Trump’s involvement in the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White says goodbye and touts a long, full political career.

And, Ald. Carrie Austin surveilled by prosecutors who say she's fit to stand trial.

In sports, the Bears are facing brutal weather and icy chances of winning against the Bills. The Cubs have landed Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson, Dodger center fielder Cody Bellinger and Yankee pitcher Jameson Taillon. And, a Bulls halftime locker room row leads to the team snapping a losing streak.
