Most Chicago area gas stations carry E10 fuel, which is 10 percent ethanol and 90 percent gasoline; but a new ordinance facing City Council would require gas stations to offer an E15 fuel blend. This blend is 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent gasoline. Is E15 a cheaper and safer option for consumers, and if the fuel isn't in high demand, why should gas stations be required to sell it?
