Lionsgate has promoted Joel Meyer to executive vp,worldwide production for Lionsgate Television, replacing studio veteran Gary Goodman as he retires.

Meyer will head up production for the studios premium scripted series slate, while overseeingLionsgates East Coast TV production facilities in Atlanta, Yonkers, New York and Newark, New Jersey. He succeeds Goodman, an 18-year veteran at the studio.

Meyers promotion comes as the Lionsgate Television Grouphas a production slate that includesABCs The Rookie,aRookiespinoff in the works from series creator Alexi Hawley, and an adaptation of the John Grisham bestsellerThe Rainmakerfor USA Network. Other TV series in production include the reimagining of the classicRobin Hood talefor MGM+ and multiplePowerUniverse showsfor Starz. During his tenure as head of TV production, Goodman had a hand in popular series like Mad Men, Orange is the New Black, Weeds, Nurse Jackie andNashville. He spearheaded production for the Powerfranchise, BMF,P-Valley, The SerpentQueenfor Starz, The Studio,Mythic Quest andAcapulcofor Apple TV+ and the John Wick prequel,The Continentalfor Peacock and Amazon Prime.
