Apr 24, 2025 8:13 AM

Bruce Tobey has signed a new multiyear agreement with Lionsgate to continue as executive vp and general counsel through March 2028.

In a regulatory filing on Thursday, Lionsgate disclosed that as of April the exec will receive an annual base salary of $1,200,000 with a target annual bonus thats 85 percent of his base salary.

He joined the studio in March 2023 and led a team preparing for the full separation of Lionsgate and Starz into standalone publicly-traded companies. Tobey will also continue serving as executive vp and general counsel of Lionsgate Studios, a post he filled in May 2024. The John Wick and Hunger Games studio is set to complete a planned separation into two publicly traded companies ahead of a shareholders vote planned for April 23. The first, LGEC, will be renamed Starz Entertainment Corp., and the second will be called Lionsgate Studios Corp., in which the studio will hold an 87 percent stake.

Before boarding Lionsgate, Tobey was a partner at OMelveny Myers LLP from August 2012 to March 2023. Before that, he served as COO of CBS Films and executive vp at Paramount Pictures.

Tobey also served as partner at Troop Steuber Pasich Reddick Tobey, LLP from May 1986 to March 2000. With his contract renewal, Tobey will continue to report to Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer, while leading the studios legal operations, especially around corporate strategic initiatives.

Bruce is a trusted adviser and a respected leader in carrying out our strategic initiatives and helping to chart our studios continued growth. We are fortunate to have his insights, expertise and leadership at a critical inflection point in our companys evolution, Feltheimer said in a statement on Thursday.
