Universal Music Group has promoted Julie Adam to president and CEO of Universal Music Canada.

She replaces Jeffrey Remedios, who has a new assignment as president, strategic development for Republic Collective, which includes Island Records, Def Jam Recordings, Mercury Records and Republic Records.

Adam will oversee Universal Music in Canada after becoming executive vp and general manager of UMC in March 2023. Earlier, she rose through the ranks at Rogers Sports Media, with her last post being president of news entertainment. The artist roster at Universal Music Group includes Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar. Billie Eilish, The Weeknd and Sabrina Carpenter.

In his new position, Remedios, who joined UMC in 2015, will drive growth for Republics labels across international AR efforts, Republic recording studios and overall business development.

Jeffrey brings a wealth of experience as a leader and entrepreneur to the collective.
