Judge: R. Kelly Can Spend More Time in Recording Studio
Judge: R. Kelly Can Spend More Time in Recording Studio-April 2024
Apr 26, 2025 4:06 PM

CHICAGO (AP) — A judge who last month ruled that R. Kelly could only enter the Chicago warehouse he uses as a recording studio between 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. now says he can stay until 9 p.m.

The ruling on Friday by Judge Patrice Ball-Reed was a setback of sorts for the R&B star, whose attorneys asked that he be allowed into the building during overnight hours that are more conducive to creating music than what they derisively referred to as “bankers’ hours.”

But that argument didn't persuade the judge who issued her original order after building inspectors found code violations.

Kelly has come under fire after women featured on a Lifetime documentary series “Surviving R. Kelly” made new sexual misconduct allegations against the singer. Kelly has denied the allegations.
