David Zagin, president of distribution at A+E Networks, is stepping down.

The 25-year veteran will be replaced by Jane Rice and Michelle Strong as co-presidents of distribution. Zagin,who has led and collaborated with Rice and Strong for 15 years, will shift to an advisory role at A+E Networks.

Rice has been promoted from her most recent role as executive vp of content distribution and marketing, while Strong served as senior vp of distribution at A+E Networks. In their new roles, Rice and Strong will oversee all distribution operations for A+E Networks domestic, Caribbean and Canadian platforms, including partnerships and marketing in an increasingly disrupted media and entertainment landscape. The management shuffle at the owner of AE, History and Lifetime was announced by Paul Buccieri, president and Chairman of A+E Networks, to whom Rice and Strong will report.

His unparalleled ability to anticipate industry trends, foster meaningful relationships, and guide transformative initiatives has left an indelible legacy. Zagin joined A+E, long known for its popular unscripted TV fare, in 1999 as senior vp of affiliate sales and during his tenure negotiated deals for early VOD and TV Everywhere agreements. Today, AE Networks continues to program for its cable channels, but also sells library fare to free, ad-supported streaming channels in a bid to monetize content it owns.
